As part of our long-term relationship with the University of Denver, we completed an overhaul of their Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. This state-of-the-art facility was the first Division I lacrosse-only facility, and this renovation built on that legacy by updating the playing surface to the most advanced version of Desso’s synthetic turf.
Our work on the stadium included removing existing earthwork, building a detention pond and outlet structure, and installing 2,780 tons of aggregate base and 83,400 square feet of Desso iDNA monofilament synthetic turf. We also installed lighting and 1,200 linear feet of curb as part of the project.
Adjacent to the stadium, we constructed a new rugby and soccer field, which included the installation of an additional 144,000 square feet of Desso synthetic turf. This portion of the project also included the demolition of existing structures and alleyway, 10,000 cubic yards of earthwork, construction of 400 linear feet of retaining wall, and the creation of a 100-year water quality pond beneath the playing surface.
Since 1999, ACC has built eight separate projects for the University of Denver Athletics Department totaling more than $5 million in revenue.
